In New York, when an employee is sent home due to business need, the customer will mark the shift as sent home, and the staffing agency will receive a notification to process send-home pay according to State requirements.
Please note that employees who are sent home for reasons other than business need—such as arriving late, incorrect footwear, or not meeting site requirements—do not qualify for send-home pay.
WAE only tracks hours worked, so these send-home payments will not appear in WAE. This process is handled directly by your staffing agency.
