WAE Attendance Policy

  • Updated

Punctual and consistent attendance is a core responsibility of all employees and is essential to maintaining strong relationships with our client partners. Our client partners rely on us to provide dependable staffing, and your reliability directly impacts your opportunities within the WAE app.

Once you have signed up for a shift, you are expected to report on time, fully prepared to work, and work the entire duration of the shift. Arriving late, leaving early, or missing a shift disrupts operations and will negatively impact your Reliability Score.

We understand that unexpected situations, such as illness or emergencies, may occasionally arise. To account for this, our attendance policy is designed to allow some flexibility while still maintaining accountability.

Key Definitions:

  • Absence: Cancelling a scheduled shift within 24 hours of the shift’s start time. All cancellations must be made within the WAE app. Other forms of notification will not be accepted.
  • No Call No Show: Failing to cancel a shift prior to its start time or failing to arrive on time, ready to work at check-in. Please note that many client locations do not accept late arrivals; in these cases, late employees may be considered a no-show.
  • Strike: Any attendance infraction, including Absences and No Shows.
  • Suspension: A five (5) day block from accepting or working shifts within the WAE app. During a suspension, all upcoming shifts will be automatically removed, and you are not permitted to work. Failure to comply with a suspension will result in immediate termination.

Attendance Infractions & Strikes

Employees will receive strikes as follows:

  • 1 Strike: Absence
  • 3 Strikes: No Show

Three Strikes Policy

Employees who accumulate three (3) strikes within a rolling 30-day period will be placed on a Suspension from WAE.

  • Strikes will automatically fall off your attendance record after 30 days.
  • Suspensions are permanent on your record.
  • Employees who receive three (3) suspensions will have their account deactivated and will no longer be eligible to work with WAE.
  • Unfortunately, users terminated in the WAE app are not eligible for rehire.

What Happens If I Get Suspended?

  • Suspensions last for five (5) days.
  • All upcoming scheduled shifts will be automatically cancelled.
  • Employees may still log into the app but will not have access to available jobs during the suspension period.
  • Once the suspension ends, employees may resume picking up shifts.

Failure to comply with the terms of a suspension, including attempting to work during this period, may result in immediate termination.

Recording Your Time

Employees are responsible for accurately clocking in and out for every shift.

  • If you are unable to punch in or out, you must submit a timecard dispute after your shift ends.
  • Timecard disputes must be submitted within 48 hours of the shift end time.
  • Disputes are reviewed by the facility and typically resolved by noon the following Tuesday.

Excused Absences

An absence will only be considered “excused” if it is protected under applicable federal, state, or local law.

  • Employees must submit a WAE Support Ticket along with valid supporting documentation for review.
  • All other absences will be considered unexcused and will be subject to the attendance policy.
  • We understand that unexpected situations can happen and may not be your fault. For this reason, our no-fault policy is designed to be lenient allowing strikes to fall off after 30 days.

Voluntary Resignation

Employees may be considered to have voluntarily resigned if:

  • They do not work any shifts for two (2) consecutive weeks, or
  • They fail to sign up for shifts immediately following the completion of a suspension.
